Internship Work
This is a newsletter that I had to make during my current internship at Camp Schodack to send out to the parents of the campers. Every week, there is a theme that the newsletter is based off of, and the design fits that theme. This example is about Triple Crown, a tradition that has been on camp for 25 years. This is the first year that camp has sent out newsletters and I am very excited that I was able to take on this role!
This is an example of another one of the newsletters that I had to create. The theme was Waterfront, which included lake, pool, and the new water slide that camp got just this year.
This is an image of when I had to plan of the most challenging events of my internship thus far; camper pickup day. The campers come from all different areas, and I was in charge of making sure that they were all picked up on time and that every minor detail was sorted out. There were 5 stops that buses went to, and I of course, could only be at one place at a time. I went to White Plains, New York where we had 3 charter buses full of campers. I had to organize lists, communicate with the parents, make sure everyone was accounted for, and handle all problems. I had to also make sure that everything was going smoothly and orderly in the other stops, where my members of my co-staff were there helping out those campers. This is an image of my co-worker and I discussing a few details before the drop off began. I was giving him information on what had to be done when the campers arrived.
During my internship, one of my biggest roles was to plan events and activities that were to happen during the summer. I had 2 weeks of staff orientation to plan for as well as 10 weeks of summer when the campers arrived. In this image, I am participating in one of the events that I planned that would allow us to get to know each other better. Staff orientation was filled with meetings, speeches that I had to organize, and fun activities such as this. It was long two weeks, but it was all worth it. Every staff member and myself were prepared to take on the summer. It is week 4 of the summer and even though I have been at camp for 10 weeks, I still have much planning to do. A lot of my time was spent planning activities that are for the campers, such as trips to museums, Fourth of July fireworks, Tribals, night activities, we have trip days every Tuesday, and Triple Crown, which is a major event that takes place on camp each year.
Other Work Samples
This is an example of some Twitter content that I did for one of my past internships. I launched the Twitter account within the first week, I had a couple hundred follower. The internship was for a company called Daily Breeze Cleaning, where I was a marketing sales rep as well their social media ambassador and I also launched their website.
